Welcome Baby Grayson!

Welcome to the world
Grayson Salvatore Fox
5/1/12 3:50pm
9# 1.3oz
We scheduled my induction for May 1st because we wanted to have some time with Matt before he starts his miserable rotation of Transplant Surgery.  My Dr really thought I would go into labor before that because I was walking around 4cm dilated and 50% effaced.  Alas, nothing I did would kick him out.  I even started running more and averaged 10 miles a week my last few weeks of being pregnant. I got acupuncture (since it worked with Reese), I took Reese to the zoo, I mowed the lawn, I didn't slow down at all.  Someone at church told me I just needed to spend a little time on my feet and surely I would go into labor.  I almost punched him :)
Tuesday morning, Matt and I loaded up and checked into University Hospital.  I was anxious and not thrilled about being a patient or being induced. I was starting to feel guilty, maybe he needed more time, maybe he was scrawny and wasn't ready to come out.  Why did I think I knew better than my baby?  I was fairly close to having a panic attack.  Our nurses were awesome and helped to put me at ease.  Everything went fairly smoothly and 6 hours later we met our son.  Just before I started pushing, my Dr felt on my belly and said she thought he was around 7 pounds.  I had no inkling, just that I felt quite a bit bigger than I did with Reese.  They put him on my chest after 3 pushes (what?!?) and we all started muttering about how giant he was.  The nurses and doctors were placing bets on how much he weighed.  One of the nurses said 9#2oz... and she was almost exactly right.  The rest of us way under guessed.  Good thing we didn't wait for this guy to decide to come out or he may have broken 10#!
Reese came to the hospital a short while later and got to meet her baby brother.  Enjoy some of the photos of the meeting!
