Fall!
Welcome!
We didn't get to experience fall last year. I wasn't even convinced Colorado was capable of being anything but cold and miserable. This time last year, we had 8 feet of snow on the ground! However, the end of summer and beginning of fall 2010, have been the best weather I've ever lived in! True statement. It has been in the 70's during the day and down into the 50's at night. Perfect! I can take Reese out in the stroller in the middle of the day and not get overheated. But then wear a light jacket at night! We have been cooking out at least 2 times per week. It is so much fun. Sadly, Matt is averaging 95 hours a week, so he hasn't gotten to enjoy it as much as Bailey, Reese and I.
As mentioned in previous posts, Reese isn't such a fan of the bottle. We have been working on it (minimally) since she was 3 weeks old. She really doesn't fuss very often and when she does, it is pretty mild. But put that bottle anywhere near her face and watch her shriek. She wants nothing to do with it. I know I am not supposed to be the one giving it to her, but Matt works entirely too much. I am not about to give up the bedtime feeding, but even then, he's only here at bedtime about 1 night per week and then he leaves before she wakes up in the morning. C'est la vie. Thus, I have gotten her to swallow 1.5 ounces from the bottle. Yesterday she actually latched on the stupid plastic nipple and took half an ounce. And today, she refuses to let it touch her lips. Hopefully, she will be a little less persnickety when visitors come to take care of her. If not, we only live 4 miles from the hospital.... Sorry in advance!
I snapped a quick photo to commemorate the latch... in case it never happens again :) |

OK, listen here, Reese: Don't be a pill about the bottle! I am dying to get some sweet cuddle time with you and that includes feeding you!!! It's not all that bad... just give it a try :)
If I were there, I would drive her to the hospital for you to feed her! Ask Lauren Murphy....Peter and ethan were frequent visitors to the hospital when Lauren returned to work! Give Reese a hug for me....I'm determined to see her before she turns a year! Hugs....
