it's a...... girl!

Theresa Ann Fox
8/7/10
8# 5.6oz 20.5 inches long
the father of a patient of mine did this for me. so neat!

of all nights to go into labor... friday was the worst one to pick.  Reese likes to do things her own way.  Matt was on call and had an incredibly busy day. We spoke at around 9pm and I was having some stronger contractions, but nothing much worse than I had been having, so I didn't even mention it.  by 10, they were 10 minutes apart and definitely more uncomfortable than false labor.  this lasted for several hours, I took a few catnaps and Bailey wouldn't get more than 1 foot from my side. He was so anxious. by 2am, my contractions were about 5 minutes apart and I was starting to feel a since of urgency so I called matt a few times but his phone kept going to voice mail.  I wasn't stressed until about 3:30.  I paged matt and never got a return call.  not good.  this either meant he was in a big case in the OR or was in a code or something horrible. so after waiting a bit longer and getting a bit more anxious, I paged him again and still, nothing!  so I started to get ready to call in a big favor to a co-worker when I heard the door open and matt scream my name. apparently there was something wrong with the verizon server and neither of us had been receiving calls or texts from each other.  he was so mad that I wasn't answering my phone while I was mad at him for not calling me back.  but we made it to the hospital around 4:30 and after pacing around and climbing 9 flights of steps, they admitted me.  I didn't make much progress for the next 7 hours, so they offered to break my water.  ouch.  that is all i have to say about that.  thank goodness for epidurals.  I told matt that the second I got evil, call anesthesia.  and as soon as I did, he did.  matt took an hour and a half nap, while I endured a very nice dull labor.  the contractions were 1-2 minutes apart, so I couldn't sleep, but I relaxed and went from 5 to 9 cm and almost completely effaced. 30 minutes later I was ready to push. and 30 minutes after that, we met our baby girl.
while the epidural stuck me to the bed... i don't look too unhappy about it

view from my seat!
reese's first picture.  she is a bit blue... it took a few minutes to get her big shoulders out.
aren't i lucky she took after her dad on those?  the giant hands... those are my fault!
still a little gooey
from 2 to 3!  happy fox family!
sleeping like her daddy
Bailey has not decided what he thinks of Reese, mostly she just makes him jumpy.
in her swing from her Hibbett great aunties! Thank you, we love it!

we promise to post more pics as we take them.  she is just so stinkin cute!  pictures don't do her justice!
