NC Mountains

Another Fox Family Adventure! Matt had a few days off after his step 2 so we invited the entire Fox Clan to meet in the North Carolina Mountains for a weekend of hiking and eating. Daniel and Randi have a friend that own this beautiful house in Blowing Rock, NC. They graciously let us all stay there (minus Rosie and Bailey).

So Pretty! We all had our own rooms and plenty of space to spare!

We all made this 4 mile hike together (including Ellie on her dad's back)

Finally to the top and ready to turn back around. This so called
"moderate" hike kicked our butts! We were practically scaling rocks
at one point!

Jacksonville Beach

Matt's friend Casey has a house in Jacksonville Beach that he so graciously loaned to us while we had a few consecutive days off last week. We had a blast, Bailey was introduced to the ocean-- which he thought was trying to chase him. I totured my legs with a very long beach run, we both attempted po-going and we ate plenty of yummy carribean food.

new sink!

After our air conditioner broke, I noticed our sink was leaking... of course. We had just blown almost our entire economic stimulus check on AC coils and repair, so I thought we should fix the sink ourselves.

I attempted to unscrew the old sink for over 30 minutes then left the job to Matt. At least 6 calls to work later, I got the final "it's finished!" and then 2 hours later the "the floor is covered with water, what do I do?". We double checked and triple checked that the sink wasn't leaking then finally put all the cleaning products away and admired our beautiful new sink. Yay Matt, you're quite the handy-man! :)

run run run as fast as you can!

May 16, 2008. Women Run the World 15K

0400 in the morning... before running 9.3 miles

0915- after 9.3 miles and a couple powerades!

Celebrating our finish, and our cool new running fanny packs (which, by the way, are the most awesome invention ever!)

Matt decided, last minute, to join me and Theresa for our Women Run the World 15K. Not that he could run it, one because he's a man and two because his knee is eternally injured. But he did manage to join us for the pre run meals! yum!

We had an excellent race-- finished in 1:37:31.

ELLIE!

This past weekend we treked to Tampa to see the ENTIRE Fox family (that includes our favorite niece). Ellie has grown so much. Enjoy the adorable shots I got of her... notice how much she loves Bailey Dog!

She loves her Uncle Matt!

Ellie and Me!

I don't know if Bailey likes Ellie as much as she likes him, but he is very tolerant of the eye grabbing and nose pulling! :)

BACK YARD PROJECT!

I had the brilliant idea that we could build a little backyard patio... didn't think it would be too hard. After hours of digging, sanding, placing pavers and replacing pavers and sanding and sanding and sanding....... we finally finished. We put in a few additional hours of planting and decorating and here it is!!!!

New Surgeon on the Block

Since Matt has discovered his love for cutting and sewing things up, he has taken to practicing on things around the house... and attempting vascular access on his poor wife. As you can see (if you look closely), he is better at stitching bananas than puncturing my veins!
